WB BJP leader Anirban Ganguly sends legal notice to filmmaker Aparna Sen

Binodon Desk;

West Bengal BJP leader Anirban Ganguly has sent a legal notice to filmmaker Aparna Sen for making derogatory comments on Border Security Force (BSF).

The filmmaker called the security forces rapists and murderers at an event held at the Press Club in Kolkata on Monday (November 15). She further said the military is being given more power than it should get.

Anirban Ganguly sent a legal notice to the filmmaker and tweeted, “I have issued a notice through my lawyer to Smt Aparna Sen asking her to issue an unconditional apology for terming the @BSF_India a force which indulges in “rape” & “murder”. Her behaviour is obnoxious, toxic, vicious & disgusting. She speaks the language of India’s enemies.
Earlier, TMC MP Udayan Guha claimed that BSF personnel touch women inappropriately while conducting searches during border movement.

The security force outrighly denied the allegation as baseless and said, “BSF Mahila praharis are the ones who do frisking of females. The allegations of inappropriately touching women by BSF personnel are utterly baseless.”

This is a fresh addition to the ongoing row regarding the Centre’s decision to extend the BSF jurisdiction in Assam, Punjab and West Bengal from 15kms to 50kms.

The Centre had empowered the Border Security Force (BSF) to conduct searches, arrest suspects and make seizures up to 50 km inside Indian territory from the International Border (IB) along India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh borders.
